Summary
Develop specialist electronic test expertise while working with advanced PCB test technology in a high-reliability defence environment. You will receive extensive training and support with clear opportunities to broaden your technical capability and develop your career. The position combines new test development with improvement of existing test packages and hands-on fault investigation.

Working Location
The role is based in the Greater Manchester area. The role is mostly site-based, with some provision for flexible working due to the specialist equipment required for the role.

What you will be doing
  • Develop and deploy automated test packages for complex circuit card assemblies
  • Debug tests and analyse test data to improve test reliability, coverage and manufacturing yield
  • Investigate faults to component level across analogue and digital PCB assemblies
  • Use automated and manual electronic test equipment to identify and resolve manufacturing issues
  • Work alongside experienced test engineers to improve testing methods and build your expertise
Skills and background
  • Strong understanding of electronic measurement, test principles and diagnostic techniques
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics, engineering drawings and test documentation
  • Hands-on experience with equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and signal generators
  • Experience with automated electronic test equipment
  • A methodical approach to test development and fault finding
  • Flying Probe test experience would be beneficial but is not essential
Essential requirements
  • British Citizen and able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance
  • Strong electronic test, measurement and fault diagnosis capability
  • Practical experience testing electronic assemblies or printed circuit boards
  • Relevant engineering qualification with strong theoretical & practical electronics test knowledge.
Training and development
You will join a newly established specialist team with structured training and support from experienced manufacturing test engineers. There is significant scope to build expertise in automated PCB testing, statistical test-data analysis and component-level diagnosis. You will also have opportunities to broaden your capability by working alongside established test engineering teams, giving you a strong platform for continued technical development. Full training is provided with access to established technical knowledge and support within the wider engineering environment.

Salary and rewards
A base salary in the region of £45,000 is on offer, plus a wider benefits package, which includes:
  • Company bonus of up to £2,500, subject to company performance
  • Opportunities for paid overtime
  • Combined employer and employee pension contributions of up to 14%
