Systems Engineer, Defence Systems
Take ownership of defence Systems Engineering work across requirements, integration and assurance. Broaden your experience across complex equipment and urgent operational requirements.
What you will need
• British nationality with current SC clearance
• Defence Systems Engineering experience
• Experience writing technical requirements and engineering documentation
• Experience assessing tenders and supporting verification and acceptance
• Able to work independently with limited supervision
Your role
• Develop and maintain requirements and supporting Systems Engineering documentation for defence equipment
• Support the assessment, integration and acceptance of new and existing capabilities
• Produce engineering artefacts including management plans, work breakdown structures, requirements documentation and assurance evidence
• Support urgent defence requirements from early definition through assessment and acceptance
• Contribute to the development and support of specialist counter-drone capabilities
• Work with engineering, operational and government stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain delivery progress
What you bring
• Strong technical requirements writing capability
• Experience across verification, validation or acceptance activities
• Understanding of defence equipment development and acquisition environments
• Experience working with Systems Engineering methods and models
• Knowledge of sensors, counter-drone systems or wider defence integration would be advantageous
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel to meetings at other UK locations
Where you will work
Abbey Wood, Bristol, with a hybrid pattern requiring 2 to 3 days per week on site. Some UK travel will be required.
The role offers scope to broaden your defence Systems Engineering experience across requirements, integration and assurance while working on varied technical challenges.
Due to the nature of work at our client’s site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens who hold SC clearance or can obtain it.
