Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 Depending on Experience
Location: Portland, Dorset

You will work across the full design lifecycle, developing innovative systems that progress from concept through manufacture, integration and deployment.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and the on-site integration facility, you will play a key role in creating practical, high-quality engineering solutions while seeing your designs brought to life in real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings
- Support design analysis and validation activities, including FEA where required
- Create and manage Bills of Materials and technical documentation
- Support designs through manufacture, integration and delivery
- Work closely with suppliers, project teams and the on-site integration facility
- Contribute to technical proposals, tenders and project delivery activities
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working in a mechanical design engineering role in a highly regulated industry
- Strong 3D CAD experience, Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Experience supporting designs through to manufacture or delivery
- Knowledge of BS and ISO standards
- Experience with Bills of Materials and technical documentation
- Supplier management and RFQ experience would be highly desirable
- Experience working on international projects would be beneficial
