Senior Cost Manager

What you will need

• Proven experience in cost management within the infrastructure or energy sectors.
• A strong background in cost control, forecasting and commercial performance across major projects or programmes.
• Experience working within a consultancy environment, managing client relationships and supporting project teams.
• A degree in construction, quantity surveying, finance or a related discipline, with relevant professional membership or accreditation desirable.

What you will be doing

• Lead and support cost management delivery across complex infrastructure projects and programmes.
• Monitor, analyse and control cost performance, identifying financial risks and opportunities to improve outcomes.
• Develop cost reporting, forecasting and performance measurement approaches, using relevant industry systems and digital tools.
• Work closely with project controls, engineering and commercial teams to challenge assumptions and improve cost efficiency.
• Build effective client relationships while supporting service development and business growth.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor colleagues and contribute to developing the wider cost management capability.

Your technical experience

• Strong understanding of cost planning, cost breakdown structures, industry benchmarks and recognised methods of measurement.
• Experience with earned value management, cost forecasting and project performance reporting.
• Commercial and quantity surveying knowledge, including familiarity with standard forms of construction contract.
• Ability to work across project controls disciplines, including programme and risk management.
• Confidence using cost management software, reporting tools and data analysis systems.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and commercial decisions.
