This permanent opportunity offers a hybrid working model with travel to Bristol and client sites. It suits experienced professionals with current SC clearance and a background in , Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives systems safety, or defence engineering.

What You’ll Be Doing You’ll work directly with clients, providing specialist consultancy services and supporting business development. Your engineering expertise will help shape the design, operation, and maintenance of complex systems ensuring technical risks are identified, communicated, and managed, and that safety is never compromised.

You’ll join a team delivering some of the most advanced WOME programmes in the UK, including:

  • Directed energy weapons
  • Hypersonics
  • Autonomous ordnance clearance
  • Conventional weapons
  • Strategic deterrent systems
Your work will span multiple platforms including air, land, sea, and sub-surface environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Authoring safety management plans and safety cases
  • Undertaking detailed hazard and risk analyses
  • Deriving and demonstrating compliance with safety requirements
  • Conducting WOME integration studies across platforms
  • Supporting WOME certification and qualification programmes
What You’ll Need
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline
  • Current SC clearance
  • Experience in WOME or OME delivery, ideally across defence platforms
  • Experience in safety management plans and safety cases, and undertaking detailed hazard and risk analyses.
Desirable
  • Chartered status with the UK Engineering Council
  • Prior consultancy experience
