A unique opportunity has arisen for a Technical Author to join a respected defence and security consultancy. This role offers the chance to become an integral part of a skilled team responsible for producing detailed technical documentation supporting a broad range of military and commercial equipment.
In this role, the successful candidate will engage closely with engineers and subject matter experts, translating complex technical information into clear, precise publications. The role demands strong organisation and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every document meets stringent quality and compliance standards. Working to agreed schedules and budgets, the Technical Author will play a key part in delivering documentation that supports critical defence operations.
The position is based on a hybrid working pattern, with attendance at the office required approximately once every two weeks and team events held quarterly. This structure supports a balance between focused remote work and collaborative in-person engagement.
Applicants should hold recognised technical qualifications or equivalent experience, with proficiency in structured authoring disciplines and software tools such as MS Word, Project, and Visio. Familiarity with S-Series specifications, including S1000D and S2000M, as well as Army Equipment Support Publications and Air Publications, is essential. Experience in CAD manipulation to prepare technical illustrations will be highly valued. The role will pay up to 47K.
An inquisitive nature and commitment to learning new technologies are important traits for success in this role. Given the nature of the work, candidates must be British citizens holding security clearance at SC level or able to obtain it.
Due to the nature of work at our client’s site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens who hold SC clearance or can obtain it.
