What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture parts according to job cards and CAD programmes. You’ll ensure that each component meets the required quality standards while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Key duties will include:
- Performing daily maintenance checks on machines
- Maintaining a clean, debris-free work area
- Logging job activity using the Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC) system
- Annotating blue route cards with relevant information such as run times, programme numbers, and any changes to processes or operations
- Ensuring every operation is supported by a signed first-off inspection
- Maintaining traceability of machined components throughout the process
- Reporting any health and safety concerns or near misses to your line manager
- Returning completed programmes and setting sheets to the CAD department
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Operator within a precision manufacturing environment
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Familiarity with common CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mazak, or similar
- Competence in the use of measuring tools and gauges
- A methodical and proactive approach to your work
- A strong sense of responsibility for safety and accurac
