Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Design: Undertake design activities at the equipment, system, and software levels.
- Systems Design Athority on key projects
- End-to-End Development: Meet technical requirements through all phases of design, integration, and leading to customer acceptance.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and review technical documentation, including test plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Rigorous Testing: Conduct testing and qualification activities throughout the project.
- Risk Management: Identify project technical risks and opportunities.
- Collaborative Reviews: Participate in project design reviews with customers.
- Acceptance Events: Support acceptance events at factory and external sites.
- Product Reliability: Ensure the safety, reliability, and through-life support of products.
- Business Development: Assist in business development by preparing technical proposals and solutions.
- Strong Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Support research and development to improve engineering quality, efficiency, and cost.
- Proven Expertise: Track record in delivering complex system design, implementation, test, and integration in the Defence or similar highly regulated domain.
- Lifecycle Experience: Experience with the full system lifecycle, including design, development, testing, integration, and acceptance.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and specify system acceptance requirements.
- Technical Knowledge: Appreciation of network technologies and complex electronics and firmware design principles.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for regular interactions with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
- Desirable Skills: Experience with Model Based System Engineering, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, modern software design techniques and languages (e.g., C++, Java, C#), signal processing knowledge, membership in a Professional Engineering or Science Institute, and agile or spiral development lifecycles.
- Educational Background: At least a BSc Degree in Engineering, Maths, or Science subject or equivalent experience.
- Security Clearance: Sole UK National with the ability to attain DV or SC UK Security Clearance.
