About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Business Development Lead to join the Land & Training sectors. This role is pivotal in supporting the Ministry of Defence (MoD) directly, as well as Tier 1 defence primes and major Tier 2 and 3 contractors. Reporting to the Training & Land Development (T&LD) Business Development Principal, you will be responsible for driving a continuous flow of attractive and winnable opportunities, developing the company’s offerings, and targeting areas for consolidation, innovation, disruption, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company within the Pirbright office, engaging with the Army customer and identifying additional opportunities.
  • Identify, track, pursue, and bid for training opportunities in collaboration with the Training Business Unit team and the marketing & sales team.
  • Support the Head of Business – Land in developing and managing the Army/Land training portfolio of opportunities.
  • Develop business opportunities in the UK defence and security sectors and adjacent markets.
  • Meet or exceed agreed order intake targets and return on business development investment.
  • Provide market intelligence, strategic options, and sales pipelines and forecasts.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, spanning multiple service offerings.
  • Support the Business Unit team, ensuring client expectations are managed and exceeded.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Technical Leads to produce high-quality marketing materials and support event and trade show activities.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Proven track record in sales within a consultancy/professional services environment.
  • Experience working in or closely alongside the UK Armed Forces in the Land & Training areas.
  • Strong awareness of land environment systems, equipment & vehicle support strategies, DSAT training methodologies, and future UK technology & training developments.
  • Existing network of customers and influential industry players.
  • Ability to achieve business development goals and translate information into value propositions.
  • Team player with a high degree of commercial awareness.
  • Qualified to bachelor’s degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Capable of holding UKSV Security Clearance.
