Senior Safety Engineer - Air Traffic Management (Contract) 

Our client is a leading provider of  Safety Engineering Services.  They are committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

Job Description

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safety Engineer to join the Air Traffic Management team on a 12-month contract basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of  ATM systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce / review Initial Safety Support Assessments (ISSAs) for changes to the  functional system (e.g. new digital products or changes to existing digital products)
  • Develop and maintain safety cases, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
  • Provide expert guidance on safety matters to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal audits against the applicable parts of Eurocae ED-153
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in safety engineering.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in safety engineering, preferably in ATM and Software
  • Strong understanding of safety principles, risk assessment techniques (e.g., FTA, HAZOP), and safety case development.
  • Knowledge of Air Traffic Management systems and procedures.
  • Experience with safety standards such as EUROCAE ED-153 and Regulation (EU) 2017/373.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel to Brussels, Belgium, as and when required.
